Jörg T. Böckeler has been leading DHI Dorint Hospitality & Innovation GmbH together with his colleague, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Karl-Heinz Pawlizki, since January 2018. Böckeler is responsible for Operations, Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing, Revenue Management, ECommerce and Architecture and is the spokesperson of the Executive Committee of DHI. The experienced Hotelier also drives the positioning of the recently launched luxury brand “Hommage Luxury Hotels Collection”, which includes the Hotel Nassauer Hof Wiesbaden, Parkhotel Bremen, Maison Messmer Baden-Baden and Söl`ring Hof Sylt.
Until 2017, Jörg T. Böckeler was General Manager of InterContinental Sydney - one of the highest rated hotels in Australia - and Area General Manager InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) multi-brands in Sydney, New South Wales and Queensland. In addition, the successful Manager was Brand Ambassador for the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand in Australia and New Zealand with seven hotels. Jörg T. Böckeler was also Vice-Chairman of Tourism Accommodation Australia (TAA NSW) and Board Member of the German-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK).
Before Böckeler and his family left for Australia in 2011, he had been General Manager of InterContinental Düsseldorf for four years and in parallel had been Chairman of the Board of Tourism NRW since 2009. Until then, Böckeler had managed various IHG hotels, including hotels in Berchtesgaden, Frankfurt and Vienna.
Since he commenced his career, Jörg T. Böckeler focused on the international Luxury Hotel Industry. It all started at the legendary Hotel Traube-Tonbach, one of Germanys most awarded hotels.
Positions followed such as The Savoy London, Cliveden House Taplow, Kempinski Hotel Taschenbergpalais and CEO of Arrabella Sheraton Holding South Africa based at the Westin Grand Cape Town. Jörg T. Böckeler has worked on four different continents and was awarded the Federal Order of Merit Knights Cross for his services to the German tourism industry in 2011.
Jörg T. Böckeler is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Tourism Partnership (ITP) sind 2019.
